Video Projection

ShowreelContact

We love creating high impact, site specific interactive projections that astound and surprise audiences. The Media Workshop creates playful and interrogative experiences and help other visual and performance artists realise their vision with our technical know how and creativity. 3D projection mapping projects are at the heart of what we do and if you would like to use projection in your project we can help as consultants, collaborators or installers.

A 3D video mapping company for site specific installations

Building projection mapping can provoke and inspire, particularly when the building is integral to the meaning of the piece. We’ve seen how impactful this combination can be over the time of our involvement with the Lumiere Festival in Durham and London and the Illuminate Festival in Plymouth.

Volume Unit has had successful installations in both Durham and Plymouth and calls on the audience to reimagine the architecture of buildings using them to visualise the music they select

Projection mapping for events

Transforming the relationship between people and their environment is a dynamic we love to work with. Spatial augmented reality projects that use art to celebrate communities or mark historic moments offer great opportunities to explore how video mapping can reveal histories and change perceptions of public spaces.

We developed a piece for re-opening of the Devonport Guildhall that was projected onto the distinctive column, a noted historic monument. The event was a significant moment in the regeneration of the area and we created a projection that celebrated the history of the area and the spirit of the community.

Video art installation and performance

We have developed and toured our own art projects and used installation in theatre projects and have worked with aerial dance artists Yskynna to create a digital interactive performance staged twice at Glastonbury Festival. We used interactive projection mapping to combine with acrobats to create an interactive performance which involved playing giant versions of familiar board games.
